This Bhang Masala Chai is very similar to the traditional Indian Chai. The tea is just replaced with Bhang leafs and that's it.
The consumption and cultivation of Cannabis plant is illegal in United States but in India, government authorized stores are selling Bhang products, up to 1960s it was widely available in the market.
1. Some dried Bhang leafs which is about 1/4 cup
Process these leafs in food processor to make a coarse powder form it.
2. 2 Cups of water is reuired
3. 4 Cups of milk is required
4. 1/4 Cup of sugar is needed
5. Cinnamon stick broken up i.e. 1 Inch
6. Cloves needed 6 whole
7. 6 Green Cardamom pods cracked open
8. Whole Black peppercorns: 6
9. 1 teaspoon of Fresh Minced ginger
10. 1 teaspoon of ghee
Half n half cream and Vanilla bean (Optional)
Add all the items 1 through 10 in a pot. Bring them to a boil. Simmer on low heat for half an hour which is very appropriate. Let it cool down. Then Strain the tea mixture. Put it in a nice jar and tighten the lid. For serving purposes add ¼ cup Half 'n Half cream to ¾ cup of strained tea mixture. After that heat it in a microwave and serve it. It can stay fresh for about one week when refrigerated. Now enjoy it.
Note: To accentuate taste further, add Vanilla beans into it and substitute sugar with honey and enjoy.
