What is it Like to Be Raised By an Indian Father

An Indian father

> Helps you finish your homework even after midnight so that you don't get a beating from your teacher while knowing that if he woke up late next morning he would be late for a more important part of his life i.e. his job and could possibly face a rebuke from his boss. Still he does it.

> When you grow up(even if you don't like eating at street food stalls now) & you go on a ride with him on his scooter/bike, he still keeps on stopping his bike and prompting you to eat when he sees something around roadside to eat while driving.

> While you could fall asleep on the navigator's seat in the car when he takes you on a long drive, on the other hand he never even takes a small nap when you drive. It's not that he doesn't believe in you buthe knows what's his responsibility as an experienced navigator and a father is.

> While your mother would all be ecstatic on your good result, your father would still seem a little stiff, in fact he'll simply congratulate you and push you to do better ahead. He may leave you wondering whether you made him proud or not, you sure did but he doesn't want your vanity to overshadow your efforts so that you just don't go on to become an one victory wonder in life. He wants you to keep on achieving more for yourself.

> Keeps all your docs ready whenever you need it so that you don't face trouble at the time of urgency, even if you don't realize it.

> Plus he keeps on asking you if you have kept everything needed before exam or have packed your bag properly before leaving for station, even if you feel irritated. This is not because you're irresponsible, that's because it doesn't matter how old you grow you'll still be his kid and he knows his duties better than anyone else.

All fathers around the world are alike in many respects, but there are a few things that only INDIAN FATHERS are good at.
