How One Can Belive in Science and God At The Same Time

This is a fascinating topic. Your question is also interesting in that you ask basically, how one can believe in both. First, let's make an important distinction. Religion lays it's foundation on belief. Typically a belief on what an event, a text or something means. Science has its main methodology based in fact and logic. There are "assumptions" that one may need to make, but those assumptions are not belief. The assumptions must only be made after data is reviewed and reasonable conjecture. Based on logic is made. Belief never requires these steps.

So at their heart science and religion set up two completely different realms intersecting only as conflict on the nature of reality and the creation of the universe. Where many religions say God made the universe, scientists, wether They believe in God or not want to know HOW it was made.

Now, I am a Christian *and* a scientist. My belief is that the road and philosophy Jesus walked to is dead on as a way to live ones life. Love everyone, live humbly, seek justice, and challenge the status-quo in a non-violent manner. In addition I do not believe that the bible is inerrant. After all a large part of what we call our holy scripture was Jewish scripture before Christianity even sprung to life. Since the Jews interpreted their holy scriptures as parable, who am I to change its meaning? After all, I am not God.
